A Freezer Full ~

I was so glad to see my freezer filled with green beans, kale, hash browns, peas, potatoes, quinoa, medley and melange ~ It was a pretty picture, but them’s some pretty words, too ~  Last night I made a simple mix for Marco, for his return home from the gym and run ~  I prepped some bread (our favorite San Luis Sour Dough) with soft butter, garlic salt and sprinkled parmesan ~  boiled green beans, which surprised me when I began munching on them when they were done, drained and salted! that was a big win because it reminded me of working with Marsha and saying I would only munch on fresh greens while I was cooking, like green snap peas, which habit is long gone.  so that was a good surprise ‘ — i laid the potatoes down first in the pan, with frozen cubes of veg broth (!) for them to get the head start ‘ the melange was next and finally, the quinoa ~ they each sit really well and then stir and mash a little crossover together.  Broiled the bread just on and off practically, so not to mess it up!  Served with beautiful salad ~ garbanzo beans, the focus for protein, with 1 h.b. egg on top, and sliced olives ~ He loved it!

When I look in the frig and see cottage cheese, pineapple juice and a strawberry smoothie (with chia seeds) and know that the carrot juice goes there on the same shelf and, when I replace the last batch I drank, it makes me happy.  Very happy. Seeing the 4-cup container I use for tuna, 2 cans, and TJs pre-cut veggies including radish, makes me happy.  Those 2 things are great new trends!!!  I have been going through a lot of granola lately (I finally found one that is good all around), a little bit at a time, but consistently.  I had some on top of some sorbet, recently, with added carob chips, and the incoming sorbets sound good for summer, too ~  mango, and rasberry! : )

add protein powder for the marketing list. out.
